Research in biomaterial technology
The research of the BioMaterial Technology Group (BMTG) at the Department
of Applied Physics concentrates on the development and testing of new biomaterials and medical devices.
Modern experimental analysis, deposition, testing and numerical methods are utilised.
Research is carried out in close co-operation with the National Centre of Excellence (Academy of Finland) studying biomaterials, and with
international and industrial partners.
Current interests:
- Novel biomaterials and implants
- Diagnostic techniques
- Thin films and deposition techniques
- Health risks of mobile phones
